Hi All,
I'm currently trying to add network support for a new DL180 G6 server, after installation of Openfiler, I boot up the server and find that it can't see any of the network cards present on the server.
Is there a way of adding these NIC drivers ?
Any help would be apprecated.

thoose are broadcoms iirc, did you try putting an older nic in, and doing an update to see if you then get the broadcoms?

I know that if I add older NIC it is likely to work, however we would really like to use the onboard NICs. I take it we would have to recompile the kernel possibly?

you install/update with older in place, then remove it, when/if new ones are detec, which it should be.

Ok sounds great, so to recap
1. Install an older network card in box.
2. startup server
3. run conary update
4. run conary updateall
5. check new cards have picked up
6. remove older network card.
Sound good ?

Hi All,
What if you do not have an old NIC to put in the server?
I've a brand new DL180 G6 server and have the same issue of the NIC's not being recognised.
This is my first installation of OpenFiler and I'm not particularly experienced with Linux. However I'm quick to learn!
Are there any other ways to get this working?
Cheers,
John

Ok, back again...
I managed to get an old card, I ran Conary Update all
rebooted, and still the cards are not present.
Is there anything else that could be done?
Cheers,
John

We have a DL180 G6 and would like to use OpenFiler on it as well, yet do not have a USB or PCI express network card in house. I could go buy one of course, but has anyone had success using a thumb drive to update the NIC drivers for the DL180? Thanks

I went to sourceforge and made sure to download 2.3 Respin (21-01-09) for x86_64 and it is the same ISO i got a few days ago. I'll grab a USB NIC and see if I can get it updated that way. Thanks for the suggestion.
