<description>Topic: Cant see any storage after installation

Message: Hi. here is my extent of OpenFiler knowledge: I barely know how to spell it, that is it. I just installed it in VmWare. Gave root a password. Added a few 1Gb SCSI disks, formatted them, created partitions. Started the image up, logged on to the web gui, but I see none of these partitions. What did I do wrong? Does netapp require some additional hardware? May be fdisk is not the tool to create these partitions? May be I should not be logging on as root but another user. help me out, please. Thanks.

Message: Quotas don't apply to iSCSI volumes.&#160; If you don't have at least one ext3 or XFS volume it will just redirect you to Volumes.

<description>Topic: Quota Tab Doesn't Work

Message: Hi,We recently purchased the Plug n' Play Openfiler Disk on Module. I configured a volume and created an iScsi LUN Mapping to the volume successfully. The only problem I'm noticing is that when we click on the Quota tab at the top, we are never able to go to the quota page. It takes us automatically back to the Volume page. I'm a little worried because the Administrator's manual says that both block level and file level allocations are set to zero for the groups, so I want to amend the quota before pointing the vmware server to it.Why is the quota page not showing for us?Thanks,Alan OwenHermon School Department

<description>Topic: Problem with quota and Active Directory

Message: Hi all, I have one strange problem with quota ...My Openfiler installation (version 2.3 with all the necessary update correctly installed) is sincronyzed with our Active Directory groups and users (no local users/groups are defined in Openfiler). So I have created a share and one directory inside it, this directory can be used by three groups:Domain Admins - that is the Primary group (PG) with RW permissionsGROUP_ONE - that has the RW permissionsGROUP_TWO - that has the RW permissions tooNow the strange part ... when a user that is inside the GROUP_ONE (and ONLY inside this group so he is not inside GROUP_TWO or Domain Admins) create a file, this file become owned by Domain Users (a standard AD group) ... but Domain Users does not have any kind of permissions on the share/directory... (the same thing happen if the user is inside the GROUP_TWO ... all the files that he create are owned by Domain Users). So when I check the quota used by GROUP_ONE it is zero ... and the Domain Users group got all the used space. The same thing DO NOT happen if the user that create the files is inside the Domains Admins (the files size is correctly accounted on this group) Anyone have same problem? and there's a fix to issue problem?Thanx Marco

<description>Topic: Cannot Delete and create volumes

Message: You can't upload screenshots here but you can certainly upload them elsewhere and then post a link.Anyway, if you haven't actually placed ANY data on that drive then easiest way to reset it (not knowing exactly what you've done) is to open a command prompt, fire up parted for that drive, and then run &#34;mklabel gpt&#34;.

<description>Topic: Cannot Delete and create volumes

Message: Hi We have the latest version of OF installed and have 3 physical hard disks (/dev/sda, /dev/sdb&#160; and /dev/sdc) on the OF server.&#160; /dev/sdb is configured for iscsi and it is working fine. Vmware ESX is using that. When I try to configure /dev/sdc, I accidentally choose as a primary logical partition and used all the space. When I go to 'Block Devices' I couldn't find an option to delete it. When I goto volumes or add volumes, it says there is nothing present and revert back to me to the list of physical devices (/dev/sda, /dev/sdb&#160; and /dev/sdc). I am going in a loop and couldn't create volumes or delete the partition.I have the screenshots, Is it an option to upload it on the forums.. please let me knowregardsExg

<description>Topic: Edit Quota not being applied

Message: Hi,I am testing openfiler 2.3 to use it as NAS for my network. I am facing a problem with the quota. I applied the quota of 15MB and 4 files to a group. The quota applied successfully. But when i try to increase the quota it doesn't seem to work. Even though it shows 500 and 0 for files the previous limit of 15MB and 4 files is being applied.I tried restarting the SMB service I also restarted OF but no use.&#160; Any suggestions.

Is there an undocumented maximum quota on guest user, on any user? Experience similiar issues with volume formated ext3.LDAD is off. No need to use it in home environment. Sharing via SMB.

Message: Hello everyone,Today I installed Openfiler to test it out. Installation went fine, but once I opened the GUI I kinda hit the wall. When I log in with root and password I don't get the following screen:http://www.oramoss.com/wiki/uploads/thu &#8230; mepage.jpgInstead, it takes me to the screen that looks similar and only has QUOTA PASSWORD LANGUAGE LOGOUT tabs on top.Not sure what am I doing wrong here? Thanks.

<description>Topic: quota not showing true volume group size

Message: Hi,I hope someone can help?I have happily installed OF 2.3 &#38; updates, I only had 2x 80gb drives, although that was fine to start with as i'd never used OF before (or linux) and had heard lots of good things about it... (i also wanted an excuse to play with linux)OF is running happily, ldap running fine (local server), shares visible &#38; accessible on my home network. access rights also work correctly, as does (did) quota management.I have added a 300gb hard drive to my existing volume, all went well &#38; just before logging out thinking &#34;wow that was easy&#34; lol... quota management for both groups or users is still showing the total space in the old volume total prior to adding the new drive.so the old total was around 80gb. however it should now be 280gb + 80gb, but quota management isn't seeing the new space... it still reports 80gb. the sliders only allow me to choose upto the original amount....does anyone have any ideas what i've done wrong? if this isn't fixable, is it possible to turn quota management off?thanksjosh1e
